GOHack 2023: RaiseNow's commitment to security

Hello! We at RaiseNow are happy to tell you about our participation in the first GOHack 2023. This unique event, organized by GObugfree and the Fernfachhochschule Schweiz, represents a milestone in the world of cybersecurity - and we are right in the middle of it instead of just being there!

GOHack 2023 will kick off on November 30 with a symposium on the topic of"Cyber Future". Here, experts from various fields will discuss the importance of artificial and human intelligence in cyber security - a topic that is also of great importance to us. Some of our team members will be on site.

The live bug bounty challenge

The Live Bug Bounty Challenge will take place on December 1 and 2. Here, our platform will be put through its paces by ethical hackers. We are excited to see what security vulnerabilities they will find and look forward to learning from their findings and further improving our systems.

Commitment to cyber security & social engagement

As a program partner of GOHack 2023, we at RaiseNow are sending a clear signal. Cybersecurity goes hand in hand with social engagement. Our goal is to maximize the security of our digital platforms while contributing to charitable causes. How does that work? Let me explain it to you.

Hack for good: our social commitment

Hacking for good? That actually exists! A special feature of the challenge is our"Hack for Good" approach. If security vulnerabilities are found in our systems, the hackers receive a reward.
So far, so normal, because this applies to all participating organizations.
So where exactly is the social commitment? It sounds only too fair to reward the ethical hackers for their work, right?

Half goes to Caritas

Well, that's exactly how we see it. Nevertheless, we would like to include another approach. We have decided with the organizations of GoHack 2023 that 50% of the maximum prize money should go to a charitable organization. After careful consideration, we decided that half of the money should be donated to a Caritas Switzerland project. This is how we combine cyber security with social responsibility.

This is Caritas Switzerland

Caritas Switzerland is a major humanitarian organization that helps people in need in Switzerland and around the world. It was founded in 1901 and has its headquarters in Lucerne. The organization focuses on combating poverty and social exclusion, both in Switzerland and in over 20 countries worldwide through projects and programmes in the areas of development cooperation, disaster relief and social work.

In Switzerland, Caritas is committed to the social integration of disadvantaged people. These include people on low incomes, migrants, refugees and families in financial difficulties. Caritas Switzerland offers direct help in the form of advice, financial support and benefits in kind such as food or clothing.

At international level, Caritas is involved in development cooperation and disaster relief. This includes projects to improve living conditions in poor countries, such as the promotion of education, health, sustainable agriculture and access to water. The organization also provides aid in the event of natural disasters and conflicts by helping those in need with food, shelter and medical care.

"The commitment of the two start-ups to people in need is valuable. The donation comes at a time when every franc counts. Global poverty is on the rise again and crises and disasters are exacerbating the living conditions of people affected by poverty. We are very pleased about the support," says Daria Jenni, spokesperson for Caritas Switzerland.

Education & training: The Educational Track

In addition to the Challenge, the Educational Track on December 1 and 2 offers insights into the world of ethical hacking. This is a great opportunity for us to gain the latest insights into IT security and deepen our knowledge. This is particularly important to us.

IT security on the web deals with the protection of information and systems that are accessible via the internet. The aim is to protect data and resources from unauthorized access, misuse, destruction or other forms of compromise.

RaiseNow: Security & public benefit hand in hand

We look forward to being part of this innovative event and making a positive difference in both cybersecurity and social good. We invite everyone interested to explore this exciting event. Whether you are a student, IT professional, ethical hacker or simply interested in cybersecurity, GOHack 2023 has something for everyone.

We look forward to making the internet a safer place!
