10 Tips - How to organize a last-minute Giving Tuesday campaign

Giving Tuesday is coming up and you don't feel quite prepared yet? No worries, because in our latest blog post, we present you with 10 last-minute tips to make the most of this momentous day of giving for your organization. From clear messaging to mobile-friendly donation platforms, discover how to plan a successful last-minute campaign and drive your mission forward. Giving Tuesday can come, and you'll be ready!

  1. Clarify your message: Your message should not only be clear, but also emotionally gripping. Concisely articulate the difference that support will make for your organization. Explain how each donation has a direct impact and link it to a current, relevant cause for your organization.
  2. Mobile-optimized donation platform: Make sure your online donation platform is mobile-friendly, as many donations are made via mobile devices.
  3. Social media campaign with focus and strategy: Use the hashtag #GivingTuesday and select platforms to target specific audiences. Create a countdown and plan posts with specific call-to-actions to increase urgency. Supplement your posts with small success stories to strengthen the connection to the mission.
  4. Use Giving Tuesday x RaiseNow branding: Use the Giving Tuesday x RaiseNow logo and personalize your design to increase recognition. Be sure to use the branding across all channels and create easily shareable content that motivates others to support your campaign.
  5. Real stories and testimonials: Tell stories of people or projects that have been directly impacted by your work, and perhaps also let those affected or employees have their say. Authentic stories inspire trust and emotional closeness.
  6. Use online donation forms: This way you don't have to worry about complicated payment processing, but can concentrate fully on the best communication for Giving Tuesday.
  7. Targeted email campaign in phases: Divide your email campaign into several phases, e.g. reminder, action and thank you. In the first step you build excitement, then you give a clear appeal for donations and finally a heartfelt thank you - ideally with an update on the success of the campaign.
  8. Interactive video livestream: Plan a livestream that not only informs, but also actively invites people to participate. Incorporate interactive elements, e.g. polls or question-and-answer sessions, to increase the engagement of your viewers.
  9. Transparent gratitude campaign: Show your appreciation by publicly recognizing donors on social networks or on your website. Provide information about the direct use of donations and document successes in a visible and traceable way.
  10. Maintain sustainable communication and relationships: After Giving Tuesday, consciously take time to show donors the impact of their support. A regular "impact update" via newsletter or on social media shows that their donations are actually making a difference and strengthens the bond with the organization in the long term.
