Your data is safe

GDPR compliant handling of personal data: On this page, you'll find important contracts, references, and templates that help make handling your personal data secure, simple, and GDPR-compliant.

Data protection with RaiseNow

Please read this page carefully. There are three important points you should pay attention to:

  • The Data Processing Agreement (DPA)
  • The Automated Anonymization
  • Your privacy policy

If you have any questions about data protection, please send an email to datenschutz@raisenow.com. You can contact our external data protection officer Dirk Wolf at dirk.wolf@skriptura.de.

Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

An important basis for the cooperation of your organization with RaiseNow is a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). This contract regulates the responsibilities between you and us with regard to personal data.

All RaiseNow Growth clients receive a PDF version of our Data Processing Agreement from our Customer Success team as part of our onboarding progress. Simply fill out and sign the PDF on your computer before returning it to us at support@raisenow.com.

Automated anonymization

We offer you the possibility to automatically anonymize the personal data of your donors that is stored with us. There are two requirements for this:

  • You are a RaiseNow Growth customer
  • You have concluded a DPA with us

If you meet these two requirements, there is nothing standing in the way of automated anonymization. We’ll send you the corresponding agreement during the onboarding process, and you simply need to sign and return it to us (together with the DPA or on its own) to support@raisenow.com.

If you do not meet the above requirements, perhaps because you are a RaiseNow Free customer, please contact sales@raisenow.com. We will help you upgrade your package.

The time interval you choose to have the personal transaction data (not to be confused with recurring charges) automatically anonymized is up to you. We recommend that you leave the data stored with us for about 14 months. This way you will definitely still have it after 12 months (for sending donation receipts), plus an extra two months as a buffer.

Your privacy policy

Since we regularly receive questions about whether we can provide a template text for your privacy policy, we are happy to provide it here. The text is already written from your point of view. Please note, however, that this is only a template. You should check it again (do you have an DPA with us?) and maybe adapt it to your wording. We take no responsibility or liability for the content of this template:

Donation technology

On our website we use donation technology provided by RaiseNow AG, Hardturmstr. 101, 8005 Zurich, whose privacy policy you can view here: https://www.raisenow.com/en/privacy-policy. The personal and payment-related data as well as communication preferences are collected by RaiseNow on the basis of our interests according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO and an order processing agreement according to Art. 28 para. 3 p. 1 DSGVO (DSGVO being the German acronym for GDPR). RaiseNow AG, based in Switzerland, and RaiseNow GmbH, based in Germany, comply with all requirements of the European Data Protection Regulation. Switzerland is considered a safe third country to which the European Commission has confirmed an adequate level of data protection by means of a decision on adequacy. This includes, for example, the security of data processing, which at RaiseNow AG is regularly audited and certified by TÜV SÜD on the basis of the PCI-DSS SAQ D Level 2 security standard (https://developer.raisenow.com/docs/pci-dss/Certificate-of-Validation_en.pdf). RaiseNow may use the collected data in anonymized form, i.e. without attribution to a donor, to optimize or improve its own services, but not to contact them directly or to pass on data to third parties.
